

As the Mental Health Director of Our Pride Our Village, Kimberly Sanders is a tenacious leader who is dedicated to transforming the lives of others. With a deep passion for uplifting Black Women who have endured Mental Health challenges with minimal access to adequate resources, Kimberly Sanders works to guide OPOV to achieving its goals and serving the community.
Kimberly Sanders is an expert who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts Degree in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University. Kimberly worked as a college and life preparation specialist for 15 years serving over 3,500 at-risk minority youth in Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Liberty, Chambers, and Galveston Counites. Kimberly is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Kimberly's love and admiration for the principles of Zeta fueled her passion to make a difference in the lives of others and led her to her current career path in public service.
Charlecia Perkins is a dynamic and dedicated leader currently serving as the Education Director of Our Pride Our Village (OPOV). With a strong commitment to scholarly achievement, academic excellence, and instructional advocacy, Charlecia works in guiding OPOV towards achieving its goals and making a positive impact on the community.
One of Charlecia's key areas of focus is social-emotional learning, recognizing its importance in fostering well-rounded and emotionally intelligent individuals. She is passionate about building relationships, not only among the students and educators but also within the community. Charlecia's dedication to high-yielding instruction demonstrates her commitment to ensuring that students receive the best possible education.
Charlecia holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, in addition to earning a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University. Beyond her role as the Education Director of OPOV, Charlecia is also an entrepreneur with multiple business ventures, demonstrating her versatility and entrepreneurial spirit. Moreover, she actively serves as a math specialist in the Houston Independent School District, where plays a pivotal role in enhancing math education and promoting academic achievement among students.
Valencya Mitchell is the Career Director at Our Pride Our Village, where she leads with high energy and dedication to community outreach, guidance, and teaching, driven by her passion for children and youth. Passionate about Valencya steers OPOV toward its goals of serving the community. With a background in CPS investigations and current work in HR at one of Houston’s largest hospitals, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Valencya holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is pursuing a postgraduate degree in law.
